Did you know that the word "bonfire" came from the Middle English "banefire" or "bonefire"? This was from a tradition where bones were burned in a fire and the following night the ashes were spread on the land for a bountiful harvest.
This blood red garnet is absolutely stunning and looks like the smouldering embers of a bonfire set atop two castings taken from the mould of a real bone. If you like telling scary stories over a campfire - this is the necklace for you.
This necklace would be stunning paired with some simple garnet stud earrings or ring.
There are no bones remaining in this necklace. No animals were harmed to obtain these bones, I found them on a walk in Alderley Edge, UK.
